Namibia’s largest coastal town is the fourth largest in Namibia and a popular destination for visitors from all over the world. Swakopmund is a seaside resort characterized by 19th-century German colonial architecture. Founded in 1892 as the main port for German South West Africa, the town has a lot to offer: Stroll along the beach promenade, admire the beautiful half-timbered houses, explore the lighthouse and the old jetty, or enjoy a good meal in one of the picturesque waterfront restaurants. Visit one of the interesting buildings, such as the “Old Prison,” designed by Heinrich Bause in 1909, or the Woermann House, built in 1906, with its striking tower (Damara Tower), from which you can enjoy a magnificent view.
Pick-up at the port around 8:30 a.m. or as soon as possible after immigration. Approximately 45-minute transfer to Swakopmund, where you can explore the town at your own pace. After 4 hours of free time, you will be picked up and taken back to the port.
