Visit to the Moonscape and Swakopmund

Pick-up at the pier around 8:30 a.m. or as soon as possible after immigration. Embark on a journey through Namibia’s impressive desert landscapes and experience some of the region’s breathtaking natural wonders and cultural highlights. After a 20-minute drive, you’ll reach Dune 7, the highest sand dune in the Walvis Bay area. Here, you’ll have time to take photos and learn about the dune’s history.

The drive continues with a scenic 30-minute tour through the spectacular lunar landscape, an ancient terrain formed by erosion over millions of years. Traveling through this dramatic scenery, you’ll reach Goanikontes, an idyllic desert oasis.

From there, you’ll head to the Welwitschia Plains, home to Namibia’s famous ancient plants. These extraordinary Welwitschia specimens live for over 1,000 years. Your guide will explain the unique characteristics and ecological significance of this fascinating plant species as you stand amidst this impressive natural setting.

A stop at Goanikontes’ charming restaurant offers you the opportunity to view local handicrafts. After a 45-minute drive, you’ll reach Swakopmund, where you’ll enjoy approximately one hour of free time. Afterwards, you’ll return to the port in Walvis Bay (approx. 45 minutes).

The excursion takes place in an exclusive small group in 4×4 vehicles with a maximum of 5 people per vehicle and is led by a driver-guide.
