The incredible Hluhluwe-Imfolozi National Park is home to the Big Five, as well as cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, wild dogs, hyenas, and a variety of antelope. Experience a safari in open jeeps with one of our experienced guides and discover the beauty of these magnificent animals in their natural habitat. The safari is a half-day adventure, including refreshments and a light lunch before the next highlight awaits. Upon arrival in St. Lucia (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), you’ll board the Hippo and Croc Barge for a two-hour cruise to discover herds of hippos and crocodiles and learn more about these magnificent creatures. The St. Lucia Estuary is home to more than 800 hippos and 1,200 crocodiles.
After the ship arrives and disembarks, a transfer will be waiting for you at the port of Richards Bay to take you to the reserve (approximately 1.5 hours). Once you arrive at the reserve, you will be transferred to your open-top safari vehicle and your safari will begin. The safari lasts approximately 3-4 hours, including a light lunch break, before returning to the shuttle for the transfer to St. Lucia (approximately 1 hour).
Upon arrival in St. Lucia, you will board a boat for a two-hour cruise to see the hippos and crocodiles. After this amazing experience, the transfer will take you back to the port of Richards Bay (approximately 1.5 hours).

8:00 – 9:30 Transfer to the reserve
9:30 – 13:15 Time in the park (iMfolozi side, as sightings are generally better there)
13:15 – 14:15 Transfer to St. Lucia
14:30 – 16:30 Boat trip
16:30 – 18:00 Transfer to the ship
Total duration approx. 10 hours, full day.
